Long power bands are for assisted pull-ups, stretching and adding tension to barbell lifts. Short mini and fabric bands go around the thighs for glute and hip work; fabric does not roll or pinch the way latex can. For pull-up assistance, start with a band that gives you five clean reps, then step down a band as you get stronger.
