Details
A solid single-piece mat sized for a barbell: you stand in the middle and the plates land on it either side. At 12 mm of dense, low-bounce rubber it absorbs the thump of bumper plates dropped from knee height and keeps a slab or floorboards from chipping. It is not a platform for overhead drops, which need layered rubber and timber, but it is the right first floor for a garage lifter. Expect a rubber smell for the first week or two.
- Size: 183 × 91 cm, 12 mm thick
- Material: dense recycled and virgin rubber blend
- Weight: about 24 kg
- Drops: rated for bumper plates from knee height
- Care: sweep and wipe with a damp cloth

Put it under my half rack to protect the floorboards in a rented unit. It has not marked or shifted, and my landlord is happy. Lighter than I feared to drag into place.

smell was too much
Good thickness and grip, but the rubber smell filled my small garage for three weeks and gave me a headache. I now keep the door open. It's fine as a mat, just air it out before you train.

does what a stall mat does
Cheaper than the rubber at the farm shop and cut cleaner. I pull sumo at 200 kg and the bar stays stable. Edges have not curled in six months.

heavy, plan the delivery
It arrived flat and weighs more than I expected, so I needed help carrying it. Once down, it's firm and quiet. I'd buy a second one to widen my platform.

my slab thanks me
I deadlift on a concrete garage floor and the mat took the first few dropped plates without a mark. It lies flat after a couple of days and does not slide when I pull. The smell lasted about ten days.
