Sixteen bikes from $89 to $1799. Two air bikes get harder the harder you push; four spin bikes run from the $279 friction S1 to the $1799 Pro Studio Cycle S11 with its 24 kg flywheel; and the S7 and S9 smart bikes add Bluetooth or auto-adjusting resistance. For lower-impact riding there are three recumbent bikes, a hybrid that rides upright or reclined, two upright bikes, an arm cycle and the $89 Under-Desk Mini Bike.

Pick an air bike for intervals, a spin bike or smart bike for long steady rides, and a recumbent if you want a supported seat with a backrest. The fan on an air bike is loud: fine in a garage, less so in an apartment with neighbours below.
